Government Implements EU Recommendations, Opposition Hinders Progress, says Kakha Kaladze

The Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze told reporters that the government solely takes part in executing the 12 recommendations provided by the European Union, while the opposition, on the contrary, obstructs this progress.

He emphasized that the government of Georgia is fully committed to implementing the recommendations, and the outcome in December will ultimately rely on the European friends who have to make a decision.

"Of course, we agree with the wish that all recommendations be implemented. It is unfortunate that only the government participates in the implementation of these recommendations. The opposition is not fully involved, moreover, they are busy trying to hinder this process, to hinder the difficult path of Georgia's European integration.

There is nothing new, as years ago there was an attempt to prevent the visa liberalization and association agreement of the country, they ran to the cabinets in Brussels, the same is happening today, although the Georgian government will do everything to implement the recommendations, and in December everything will depend on our European friends to make a decision. I want to believe that a fair decision will be made and not as it was done when Ukraine and Moldova were given status and Georgia was oppressed based on certain political interests," Kaladze told journalists.
