Georgia improves its media freedom index

A French-based, international non-profit organisation, Reporters without Borders (RWB), has released its 2016 World Press Freedom Index which said Georgia improved its image in terms of media freedom, but the activities of media owners still caused concern. (more)

Majority refuses to change election system

“The government is ready to consider nearly 80% of the opposition’s demands related to the upcoming parliamentary elections, except the changes to the electoral system,” stated majority MP Giga Bukia after meeting with the inter-party group. (more)
